Letting Go of the Words: Writing Web Content that Works (Interactive Technologies)

From my perspective as a small business owner in web design and digital marketing for about a decade, I would say this book clearly explains the concept of writing for the web. Even though the majority of us learned how to write in school, writing for the web is different. Why? One of the key reasons is that, when browsing the web and having so many websites to choose from, a person’s attention span is relatively short. Thus, to make your web content stand out, it requires a different approach to writing.

Since most of our communications are now web-based, this skill is becoming more and more important for all of us, especially for web designers and digital content marketers. In this book, the author provides detailed steps to help you write quality content as well as to format the content in a way that is user-friendly for your online readers.

Overall, this book is most beneficial to those who work in these fields: Digital Marketing, Content Marketing, PR, Communications, Website Design and Social Media Marketing. The next book I would recommend is Content Chemistry by Andy Crestodina.
